Our infant room is full of love and fun! GMLC staff work with even our littles on social, literacy and numeracy skills. From learning to share, to listening to stories, and everything in between. Our Baby Geniuses receive the nurture and support they need to thrive! Infant room staff are CPR certified, like all staff, trained in Prepare to Care and Safe With You. Like all staff, they receive ongoing training throughout the year.
Our tadpoles are busy learning through play. Here, we continue to learn to share and make friends. We start each day with circle time, where we learn songs, dances, literacy and numeracy skills. In this group, we also begin POTTY TRAINING.
Our Leaping Frogs are getting the hang of potty training! Here we build on learning skills and add an increased focus on self-help skills to prepare children for preschool. Ongoing assessments help us determine when our 3-year-olds are ready to transition to preschool.
We offer a wide variety of engaging activities that help children learn and grow, including arts and crafts, music, outdoor play, and more. Our curriculum is designed to be fun and educational, so your child can thrive in a stimulating environment. Our goal is for all of our preschoolers to have a smooth transition to kindergarten. Name recognition & writing, counting, letter recognition & sounds, fine motor skills, and so much more is being taught in our preschool room!
During the school year, we provide school-age students (ages 5-12), with safe and reliable transportation to and/or from school. They receive a well-balanced breakfast before school and a healthy snack after school. Our van drivers are CPR certified and trained in Safe Kids Nebraska!
We utilize Little Dreamers, Dream Big which aligns with the Nebraska Early Learning Guidelines (ELGs) to support our children’s learning and development, along with purposeful play. A play-based approach involves both child-initiated and teacher supported learning. The teacher encourages children’s learning and inquiry through interactions that aim to stretch their thinking to higher levels. Mraz, Kristine (2016).
